WHY US
Why DyslexAbility Is the
#1 Choice for Alternative Teaching Jobs
Teaching doesn’t have to feel like surviving.
At DyslexAbility, our team is built around purpose. Here’s what makes our alternative teaching jobs unique:
-
1:1 Support Instead of 1:30 Classrooms: You’ll work with students individually in a calm, purpose-built environment.
-
Training Provided, No Intervention Experience Needed: We train every practitioner in the Barton Reading & Spelling System and structured literacy models.
-
Evidence-Based Methods That Work: Our results speak for themselves, most students advance multiple reading levels in just 6 months.
-
Emotional Impact, Not Just Academic: Watch students gain confidence, overcome school anxiety, and rediscover a love for learning.
-
Flexible Scheduling: Full-time or part-time options available. You choose what works for you.

A Practitioner is more than a tutor or teacher.
You'll be trained in a structured, multisensory learning intervention, working one-on-one with neurodiverse students in weekly sessions. You’ll use proven programs like the Barton System, which is backed by the International Dyslexia Association and built on the Orton-Gillingham approach.
You don’t need to be a special ed teacher. If you’re empathetic, teachable, and passionate about helping kids learn in the way their brains need, we’ll give you the tools.
